The Color Purple

I actually used to wear purple a lot. I mean, a lot. Ask my friends....I had - okay, I still have it - this purple velour track suit that I exercised daily. No, I never actually exercised in it.  While purple still is one of my favorite colors, I've learned to appreciate all shades of the spectrum.

I fell in love with these shorts, not only for their texture (cool, funky pleather), but for their ridiculously low price.  I scored these babies for $10 on the sale rack this weekend. Feels so good!

Add patterns, interesting textures, and some high-heeled booties, and your set :)

Happy Wednesday!

I think Spring is just starting to come around...which is good because I'm so excited for spring fashion. Incorporating patterns (hence the pants) into your wardrobe is an easy and pretty way to add color and individuality to your outfits! I picked these pants (black, white, tan, pink floral pattern) up yesterday at Kohl's;75-90% off clearance, how could I resist? Obviously not.

A trench coat is another essential - it really ties an outfit together.

Spring, please come soon! Happy Monday, everyone :)

Work It

I'm not really one for trousers, but something about these pants (maybe it's the silky liner inside, or how warm they are) really make them an awesome staple piece. Actually, this ensemble is constructed entirely of basic staple pieces. Can't go wrong with pairing a button down with a warm wool blazer - easy outfit. Which is good, considering I left my house late for work. Not that I do that every week. Don't tell. Please?

Happy Oscar Day!
Is it bad that I'm almost more excited to see what everyone will be wearing?
