This outfit is so easy....throw an olive cargo jacket over a tee and voila! Instant success. I absolutely love my white denim jeans...I'm always a bit iffy in the pants department - short and curvy doesn't always mesh with stores' platonic notions of the ideal female figure (stick-like, hips like a boy's). American Eagle offers short/long sizes depending on your body type...I buy most of my jeans there, and have never found any reason to switch! So, considering the functionality of this cargo jacket and the cute factor of white jeans, I'd have to say that yes, both are staple pieces. And they can be worn in most seasons! That whole "no white after labor day" mantra does not exist. I repeat, does not exist.

I love pieces that come together with virtually everything. I've worn this skirt a million times in so many different ways - it's probably one of the most functional skirts I've ever had. It makes me proud. (Yes, my clothes are like my small children. I love them.) Combining patterns, like with this polka dot shirt and checked scarf, is a great way to add versatility. It's nice to change things up every now and then! I suppose what's great about the skirt, the shirt, the jacket...everything stands on its own, sure, but really, when put together, every piece works towards an overall, polished look. I love mixing and matching and trying new things. If it doesn't work, oh well! On to the next.

Just a neutral kind of day; neutral like Switzerland. It was one of those mornings when you're running behind and your outfit you picked out the night before isn't working and you're frantically putting on and taking off clothes just praying that something will work out....Not my best, that's for sure.
I cannot wait until Spring is here and I won't freeze whenever I'm not covering my legs!
I love the little scalloped detail of this skirt....definitely my favorite part of this not-so-great outfit today!
